Police confirm A9 is now open in both directions by Aviemore

Police have confirmed that debris has been removed from the A9 by Aviemore and the carriageway is reopen in both directions following a crash this morning.

It follows an accident at around 8.45am involving a van and another vehicle.

The van had left the scene by the time the police arrived at the scene around one mile south of the Lynwilg junction.

A force spokesperson said: "Police were called to a report of a road crash on the A9 near Aviemore involving a van at around 8.45am today.

"Officers attended, however, the van had left the area.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish more details."

She added: "The road is open and any debris is cleared."
