A flurry of police vehicles have been operating in Kingussie today from early afternoon and well into the evening.

Police cars have been seen both solo and in groups from the high school area up to the New Cemetery among other places.

No official statement has come from divisional headquarters this evening but the Strathy understands that officers have been following up a lead regarding missing man Stewart Braisher.

Police are still keen to trace the whereabouts of Stewart Braisher.
Police are still keen to trace the whereabouts of Stewart Braisher.

Police issued an appeal for help in tracing Mr Braisher (32), who was reportedly last seen in the Kerrow Drive area of the Badenoch capital at around 8pm on July 28.

The force stated: "He is described as white, 5ft 2 inches tall, of slim build, with short dark brown hair.

"When last seen he was dressed all in black clothing with his hood up and was carrying a black rucksack and a bag for life type shopping bag."

As the search got under way, Sergeant Alison Ross said: “I’d ask anyone who has seen Stewart, or a man matching his description, to report this to officers as soon as possible.

“Equally, anyone who has information that can help us trace his current whereabouts should report this to police as soon as possible.”

Those with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 1638 of 28 July, 2023.

More on this as information comes in.
