Plans have been lodged to create a dog walking park on Rothiemurchus.

Inverness Secure Dog Walking Fields is behind the plans for 'The Glade' described as being 425 metres north-west of Camusmore.

The proposal is outlined in a 12-page supporting submission to Highland Council planners.

It states: "Secure dog fields are a relatively new concept but have been in successful operation across the UK for a number of years.

"Several secure fields across the Highlands, Moray and Aberdeenshire have all gained planning permission including our other park: The Field Inverness.

"There is a need for a park like this within the Badenoch and Strathspey area

"A secure field is not a public dog park – dog parks are open to anyone at any time. A secure field is an area any dog owner can exclusively hire with the security of knowing no one else can enter the field without their permission.

"Owners know they have a safe and secure place to allow their dog to exercise and train their dogs both on and off lead."

The enclosure will be surrounded by 1.9m high deer fencing and there will be a double entry gate system.

Car parking is also proposed.
