A Met Office Yellow warning for wind is in place until 3pm today across the Highlands, while the waters continue to rise in Badenoch and Strathspey with the thaw from the mountain snows and ice in full spate.
"Strong winds are expected in association with Storm Jocelyn, leading to possible disruption to travel and utilities," a council spokesperson said.
This morning's road conditions report, issued at 7.54, confirmed that surface water was a problem across the whole network.
"Motorists advised to take care driving in the area today."
In the strath no winter action was said to be needed due to positive temperatures and there were no known overnight issues, but across the Spey catchment there were inundations and a fair bit of early damage.
At Loch Insh Outdoor Centre the 'Glice' rink recently relocated to the beach-side was out of action after the rising tide smashed down the outer wall.
Only last weekend there was real ice on the Glice and the loch itself was so solid that people were literally ice skating well out across it, with the Spey running a good few centimetres below them.
Today a spokesperson said: "The Glice skating sessions are on hold until the water levels return to normal. No need to fret, we still have plenty of other fun and exciting activities, but hopefully it will all be back to normal by the weekend."
A number of schools and nurseries were closed today as a result of Storm Jocelyn, though none in Badenoch and Strathspey was affected.
