The Aviemore Resort Wedding Fair gave brides and grooms to be – as well as prospective mother-in-laws – plenty of great ideas as they plan the big day.

The resort dubbed the event 'A day for you made by us' and it proved to be just that on Sunday.

The proceedings kicked off at noon and culminated with a wonderful catwalk showcasing the expertise, services and creations of the very best wedding specialists and suppliers from across the Highlands.

The models started walking down the runway at 2pm and showed off not just bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses but also wedding styles for the mother of brides and grooms and provided plenty of other inspirational touches.

There was also a good range of wedding exhibitors for those attending at the resort to chat to ensuring that all bases were covered in good time – and making sure there will be no last minute panic.

A Macdonald Aviemore Resort spokeswoman said: "The wedding fair went really well and showcased the Macdonald Aviemore Resort as a premier wedding destination along with the diverse and talented 17 wedding suppliers who were in attendance.

"The fashion show, in particular, was a big highlight and added a really vibrant touch to the fair."

The wedding suppliers who ensured the fashion show was such a hit were Opalily Bridal (bridal and bridesmaid dresses), La-Di-Da Fashion (mother of the bride and groom), Bridal Hair by Natasha (the models' hairstyling); Kirsteen's Kollection (venue decor) and KBE Events for organising the production.

Other exhibitors attending the fair included Fitlike Photography, Highland Wedding Film, The Electric Cherries, Murray Travel, The Hitching Post, Flying Scotsman, The Loch Ness Piper, Macdonald Drumossie Hotel, Ceamara Photography, Aye Do Events and Highland Classic Car Hire.
