Following the freezing of some charges and suspension of enforcement for others during the lockdown period, The Highland Council has been following a phased return to normal operations since June.

Phase 3 started on July 13, with the reintroduction of off-street parking charges at all existing off-street car parks.

Phase 4 will start on Friday, July 31, with all contract parking schemes re-introduced.

Parking permit renewals will be available from Monday August 3 (online), but further information will be provided to customers in the run-up to that date.

A council spokesperson said: “We would like to thank drivers for their assistance and understanding as our services are been re-introduced.

"As streets get busier we need to maintain access to businesses and services for all."
