A parking row involving an axe has seen a Grantown man fined £300.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard previously that the mobility car of William Gibson's wife's had been hemmed in by his neighbour.

The incident took place on on November 29, last year, at a communal shared parking space at the town's Dulaig Court.

The court heard there had been a heated row between Mrs Gibson and the neighbour which left her in floods of tears.

In response, Gibson (51) had grabbed a replica axe from his house and threatened to smash his neighbour's car with it.

Sheriff Sara Matheson imposed a fine of £300 with a victim surcharge of £20 and forfeited the axe.
