An appointment only Covid booster clinic in Aviemore has now been changed to an open clinic offering first and second doses too.

Government advice recently changed urging people to get their booster from just three months after their second jag rather than the six months previously advised.

The shorter wait is because of the rise of the much more transmittable Omicron variant.

An NHS Highland spokeswoman told the Strathy: "This Wednesday's clinic is now a drop-in as well as appointments via the portal."

The clinic is being held at Aviemore Community Centre – also the primary school's main hall – this Wednesday (January 5).

Covid boosters via the online portal are available from 9am to noon and 1pm to 4pm.

First and second doses of Covid vaccinations and boosters will be available from 9am to 12.15pm and 1pm to 3.30pm at the drop-in clinic.

The latter is open to anyone requiring a Covid-19 booster who is aged 18 or older and the for any age requiring a first or second dose.
