There has been one additional confirmed case of coronavirus in the Highlands in the past 24 hours, new figures have shown.

Prior to that, the region had gone five days without a new recorded case.

It takes the total registered by NHS Highlands to 377. The number of people being treated in hospital with confirmed Covid-19 is fewer than five, and so is the number of virus patients in intensive care.

A total of seven people have tested positive across Scotland in the last 24 hours, taking the national total to 18,340.

And 2490 people who tested positive have died across the country since the outbreak began – the same as yesterday.

Elsewhere in the north, NHS Grampian has had no more new cases since yesterday, keeping its tally at 1429. Its hospitals were treating 30 people for the disease, with fewer than five virus patients receiving treatment in intensive care.
