Coronavirus news.

Three days have now passed since NHS Highland recorded its most recent positive test for Covid-19.

The overall number of coronavirus cases confirmed in the health board area since the start of the pandemic remained at 381 when the latest daily figures were published at 2pm.

Only three positive tests were recorded across the whole of Scotland in the past 24 hours. There have been 18,554 confirmed cases in the country since the start of the outbreak.

No health board in the north of Scotland registered any new cases in the last two days, with the number of cumulative positive tests in NHS Grampian, NHS Tayside, NHS Orkney, NHS Shetland and NHS Eileanan Siar all remaining unchanged when the latest figures were revealed.

And, in further good news, there were no new fatalities recorded in Scotland in the past day.

The number of people in hospital with confirmed Covid-19 rose marginally – up from 267 to 270 – but only two patients were in intensive care.
