New Highland yellow weather warning issued by Met Office

A fresh weather warning has been issued for the Highlands by the Met Office.
The national forecaster has announced a yellow alert for ice across many parts of the Highlands on Sunday night and Monday morning.
And they are warning that the extensive rain brought by Storm Babet in recent days could exacerbate the danger posed, due to the amount of standing water and run-off left in its wake that could now freeze.
The alert comes into force at 9pm on Sunday and will remain in place until 9am on Monday.
"Icy patches will develop on untreated surfaces on Sunday night and Monday morning, especially where runoff from nearby saturated ground leads to salt wash-off," said a Met Office spokesman.
The warning covers a large swathe of the Highlands, including all of Caithness, much of central and eastern Sutherland, Mid and Easter Ross, the Black Isle, Great Glen, Inverness-shire, Nairn-shire, Moray, Badenoch & Strathspey and beyond.
The alert also covers extends down central and eastern Scotland and across the border into Northumberland, Cumbria and Tyne & Wear.
