Police Scotland issued a public appeal to trace the woman after hearing of concern for her safety.

A spokesperson said: "About 8pm on Sunday, October 15 Police Scotland were contacted regarding concern for a female seen lying in the middle of the road on the B9007 at the junction with the A938 near to Duthil, Carrbridge."

She was described as wearing dark clothes and no shoes.

The police appeal added: "There was no trace of the female on police arrival.

"In order to establish her welfare, anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to contact Aviemore Police by phoning 101 and quoting incident PS-20231015-2960."

But so far this appeal has drawn and blank.
