Work has started on the new A9 speed camera systems in the strath.

The Scottish Government’s attempt to increase road safety by encouraging slower speeds will "click" in September, when the cameras will be switched on.

Bear workers have been busy laying the ground work for the average speed cameras just north of the turn-off to Carrbridge, at Blackmount.

The next site along their way will be Moy.

The policy is still proving highly controversial, with petitions still circulating aimed at reversing the decision on the grounds of increased frustration among motorists and the “distraction” of the new measures.
