A missing Aviemore woman who had not been seen in almost a week has been traced "safe and well", police have confirmed.

Officers had launched an appeal on Wednesday morning for help locating Kirsteen Maree Foulis, as they were becoming "increasingly concerned for her welfare" after she disappeared on January 11.

But in a follow-up update on Wednesday afternoon, police were happy to confirm that she had now been traced.

A police spokesperson said: "Kirsteen Maree Foulis, who was reported missing from the Aviemore area, has been traced safe and well.

"Thank you to all who shared our appeal."
