A full strength Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team was called out last night to assist four people who had become lost in the peaks whilst on a two night bothy trip.

They were located on the south side of Cairn Gorm between the summit and the Saddle in high winds.

The volunteer rescuers assisted the group with their equipment and they were walked to the Ptarmigan top station at Cairngorm Mountain and then driven off the hill via the ski area.
