PUBLIC exhibitions are to be held later this month on a non-motorised route between Aviemore and Carrbridge.

The public will be able to see and comment on the options being developed as part of the A9 dualling project.

A Transport Scotland spokesperson said: "We are continuing to work with the Cairngorms National Park Authority, Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Transport Partnership and Sustrans to deliver the Aviemore to Carrbridge non-motorised user route study.

"Public exhibitions are being held to provide an update on the ongoing work and seek feedback on the corridor options that have been developed for the route.

"We would urge anyone with an interest in this proposed scheme to attend one of the exhibitions or view the material online and give us their views.

Pete Crane, the Cairngorms National Park Authority’s head of visitor services said: "There's great support from communities from Laggan to Grantown for better, safer active travel and we also know from surveys that once here more and more visitors want to get around on bike or foot."

* Aviemore Community Centre will be the venue on September 25 from 3pm to 8pm and Carrbridge Village Hall will host the exhibition next day from 2pm to 6pm.
