The Coul Estate Partnership, which recently took over the Coffee Shop, want to use the outbuilding on the other side of the road, with the aim of turning it into a Class 1A retail village store.

“The main objective is to reinstate a local shop within the village while retaining the coffee shop,” explained JHO Architects of Inverness.

“The coffee shop, which was established in 2015, used to be the local village store.

“The existing building located across the road was part of the store and was used partly as overspill storage for the store, partly as a community resource and information centre with a small post office.

“It is proposed that the outbuilding will be converted into a shop selling a mixture of local produce and frozen products, in addition to essential household items.”
