But a statement today from Police Scotland confirmed that the death was not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson told the Strathy this afternoon: "Around 12.15pm on Friday, November 17, police were made aware of the death of a 17-year-old boy in Newtonmore Road, Kingussie.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, however the death is not being treated as suspicious.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
