Friday saw a bit of history at Kingussie as a long-held ambition to create a proper floodlit sports field for general use came into being.
The Market Stance's floodlights went live in a real style, with speeches, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a piper to lead out the players and an inaugural match of great quality.
"It was a great night," said project spokesman John Robertson.
"A good crowd came to support the event and the weather held so all we could ask for."
To mark the occasion Kingussie Under 12's welcomed Inverness Shinty Club to be the first game played under the new lights.
Following a speech from Kingussie's Russell Jones and John Robertson the honour of cutting the ribbon went to Kingussie Chieftain Joe Taylor and Under 12's Captain Kayla Gow.
The teams were piped on by Sandy MacDonnell as a fantastic community support watched on.
The game ended in a 1-1 draw with Captain Kayla scoring early in the second half then Marcus McManus equalising for Inverness.
Mr Robertson said: "We want to record a massive thank you to all contractors and all involved in bringing this facility to the community, it will be a massive asset in the years ahead."
