The official launch of this year's Food on Film Festival saw a tasty turnout last night and a full programme is now under way until Sunday.

The event was officially opened at the Iona Gallery by Highland Councillor Muriel Cockburn.

"It was a privilege to open the festival," she said.

"The organisers of the festival show their strength and depth of commitment by offering their range of events over the weekend.

"We are lucky to have access to such wide-ranging and thought provoking activities.

"It is wonderful to be immersed and participate in communities during such events."

This year's opening movie of “2040” was received as a positive way to approach the climate crisis, and gave everyone plenty of food for thought.

Highlight of the festival will be tomorrow's Food Hall event in the Badenoch Centre on Spey Street and the Strathy is told that tickets are available for all.
