Inverness Justice Centre closed today due to substation fire outage

An unplanned power outage has resulted in the closure of Inverness Justice Centre today.

The Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) confirmed that the building will be closed due to an outage that has left it without power until the evening.

The closure follows a fire at a substation in Waterloo Place earlier this morning causing several outages across Inverness.

People due to attend the justice centre are being encouraged to check the Inverness sheriff court page on the scotcourts.gov.uk website for updates.

A spokesperson for the "Due to a fire in an SSE substation that supplies Inverness Justice Centre, there will be no power available to the building until at least 6pm tonight.

"The building will be closed to the public today and if you are due to attend Inverness Justice Centre today please check the Inverness sheriff court page for further information.

"If you need to urgently contact Inverness Justice Centre please email inverness@scotcourts.gov.uk."
