Ruthven Ward at New Craigs Hospital in Inverness has reopened to new admissions.

The ward had been closed due to a small number of Covid-19 cases last month but returned yesterday.

Dr Adam Brown, NHS Highland Consultant Microbiologist, said: “We are pleased to announce that the ward has reopened.

“We will continue to test patients and staff in the ward for Covid-19 for the time being to maintain safety. We would also ask that anyone wishing to visit the ward please phone in advance to book in. This will ensure we can safely manage those coming into the ward.

“We would also like to remind visitors to our hospitals that Covid-19 guidance remains in place and to wear face coverings and wash your hands regularly during your time in hospital or other health and social care settings.”
