The operator of Inverness Airport has today issued new travel advice in the wake of the Covid-19 lockdown announcements made by the various UK governments over the weekend.

On Saturday First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced that coronavirus restrictions will only be relaxed on Christmas Day and mainland Scotland would then be placed under the tightest restrictions from Boxing Day.

Highland and Islands Airports Ltd (Hial), which runs the airport, is advising passengers to check their flights before travelling to the terminal.

A Hial spokesman said: "Following the announcement of further restrictions and changes to travel guidance, passengers are advised to check the status of their flight with their airline and read the travel advice from the Scottish Government before travelling to our airports."
