POLICE have appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage after a housebreaking incident in Newtonmore.

The incident occurred in Golf Course Road sometime between 7pm on Thursday, March 23 and the following morning.

"[We] are keen to trace the driver of a breakdown/recovery style truck with a dark-coloured car on its loading bed which was seen near to the property around 10.30pm to midnight," said a police spokesman.

"Residents are requested to check any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell cameras for any such vehicles seen in Newtonmore.

"Anyone who may have seen any unfamiliar vehicles or witnessed any suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 0656 of March 24.

"If you have any information about a specific crime, you can anonymously contact the independent charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 or online at Crimestoppers-uk.org.

"If your call is not an emergency, call 101. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded, and you will not go to court."
