Some of the Highlands’ brightest young talent are set to light up the stage in a big, double celebration in Aviemore this weekend.

Stagecoach Theatre Arts Inverness is celebrating its 10th year anniversary with a dazzling showcase that will bring a touch of Hollywood to the strath with scores of performers.

To mark the milestone Stagecoach students from across the Highlands will on Sunday perform their largest extravaganza at the Macdonald Aviemore Resort theatre.

And it will be a double celebration for it is also the resort’s 50th anniversary this year.

The youngsters - including several from teh strath - will present a ‘A Waltz Dream’ musical inspired by Walt Disney’s hit movies from Steam Boat to Star Wars.

A fabulous mix of sensational singing, dazzling dancing and inspirational acting, is promised.

The show features 150 budding artists in the Highlands - including local talent from Aviemore.

The musical is written and produced by Amy Mullen, principal teacher at Stagecoach Theatre Arts Inverness.

She said:"For the past 10 years we have performed our annual shows in the Inverness and Moray area. This year we have decided to celebrate our anniversary in Aviemore.

"We have had many past and present students attending Stagecoach Inverness each week and feel this would be a lovely opportunity for us to give something back to the community with a spectacular showcase of young talent.

"The Macdonald Aviemore Resort has wonderful facilities for us to use and a theatre that gives us the opportunity to widen our audience with 600 seating.

"We really hope to have lots of bottoms on seats and people support local talent in their area. It is a brilliant entertaining show for the whole family to enjoy!’’

‘Minnie and Mickey’ Mascots will also greet guests on arrival and collecting in donations for the local charity, MFR’S Cash For Kids. A raffle on the night will also help MFR’S ‘Back To School’ Campaign.
