Calling all Highland businesswomen!

In a year of unprecedented challenges, this year’s Business Women Scotland Business Awards is issuing a call for the country's successful female entrepreneurs to share their success stories.

Back for a sixth year, the awards will go to women running their own business or in key roles in larger organisations.

Categories range from start-up business of the year and established business of the year to rising star of the year and inspirational woman of the year.

New categories in the 2020 awards to mark the unparalleled economic climate include business growth of the year, resilient woman of the year and social impact of the year.

Heather Matthews, director of Little’s Chauffeur Drive in Glasgow and winner of the established business of the year and businesswoman of the year titles at last year’s awards, is encouraging women to apply for the 2020 categories .

"The awards offer an opportunity for businesswomen at the top of their game – no matter the size of the business – to be recognised and celebrated,” she said.

As an added incentive, awards sponsor STV will gift the award winner £20,000 airtime and a launch commercial to help grow their business.

“It is more important than at any other time for women to enter the awards this year. These awards provide the perfect platform for women across all sectors in Scotland to showcase the vital contribution they are making to our business ecosystem,” Business Women Scotland founder Lynne Kennedy said.

The closing date for entries is September 14.

The 2020 Business Women Scotland Business Awards will be announced online on November 6 and hosted by television presenter Rachel McTavish
