A HIGHLAND heritage institution was asked to work on a new tv series exploring the role played by grandparents of famous actors in the Second World War.

The Highland Archive Centre will be featuring in the new episode of Channel 4's series My Grandparents' War, exploring the Highland connection of one of Keira Knightley's family members.

The centre posted on Facebook today that they were excited to be asked to take part to the series back in June.

The episode will be broadcast on Channel 4 at 9pm on Thursday 22nd September.

The series, now in its second season, has seen famous faces such as Kit Harington, Carey Mulligan and Helena Bonham Carter take part in previous episodes.
