Get talking about dementia amongst other things over a cuppa at Alzheimer Scotland’s annual Tea & Blether campaign at events in Grantown and Kingussie.
The initiative recognises the benefits of talking openly about dementia in safe and friendly spaces, as well as the well-being to be had by bringing people together.
The charity's dementia advisor Julie Ferguson said: “We’re really looking forward to bringing everyone together for Tea & Blether in Grantown on Thursday (June 1) and Kingussie on Sunday (June 4).
"In Grantown the local outdoor resource centre team will be hosting a Tea and Blether in the Tipi in The Square in Grantown.
"I will be hosting a Tea & Blether at Kingussie's Talla Nan Ros alongside Highland Senior Citizen’s Network and NHS colleagues.
"This informal gathering is for people with dementia, their family and friends, and anyone in the local area, to come and chat over a cuppa.”
Tea & Blether is this year also focusing on the importance of supporting people with dementia to keep doing the things they love with help from Alzheimer Scotland .
The two events are part of Dementia Awareness Week which got under way today.
The South Highland team for Alzheimer Scotland’s Tea & Blether campaign is held in association with NHS Highland, Highland Senior Citizen’s Network and Heritage Horizons Cairngorms 2030.
Every penny raised by Tea & Blether will support people living with dementia and their carers across Scotland, including helping them to stay active and engaged in their local communities.
