The local condition report was issued at 6.17am:

"Heavy rain with positive temperatures throughout the area. Winter drivers stood down."

Inverness reports at 6:37am confirmed: "Mainly wet roads this morning with some low roadside temperatures."

But there was some gritting on the higher routes including Tomatin, Beauly and Culnakirk.

In the neighbouring Nairn areas, with the report issued at 6:17am, heavy rain and positive temperatures were said to exist, with no winter action needed.

All weather warnings are available on the Met Office website.
