At last the world is the tourist's oyster again – and there is a pearl nestling in the capital of Strathspey.

Grantown-on-Spey Caravan Park has everything for all those who value their freedom.

It's made the place a regional favourite. This year's Top 100 Sites Guide acknowledges not only that the lochs and hills are the top draw now for seeking out the wide open spaces of the national parks, but that Grantown offers the ideal base for exploring them.

"This pristine park in the stunning Cairngorms is just the place for exploring their landscape. There’s fishing for salmon and trout on the River Spey and a range of walking routes and mountain bike trails."

The park is moments from the heart of town with its gift shops, cafes, 18-hole golf course and starter points for walks short to long, from woodland trails to more challenging scree scrambles.

The dedicated wardens are especially proud of the reviews the Guide received from contributors who enjoyed their stay in "beautifully kept grounds by staff who are friendly and helpful, in a fabulous setting – we love this friendly, clean, well-run site and come back here again and again."

Grantown-on-Spey Caravan Park offers the best of both worlds: a well-established site now enjoying the added benefit of new ownership, continuing the high standards while injecting a new lease of life for a new generation of visitors, both solo and families, with facilities of the highest specifications affording welcome luxury to their great Scottish adventure.
