Appeal follows Grantown fire-raising incident

Highland Police are appealing for witnesses to an arson incident this week in the Square at Grantown.

The appeal, issued via social media today, refers to wilful fireraising in the Strathspey capital.

The incident happened around 3am on Sunday, when a bin was set alight.

Constable Kevin Anderson, of Nairn Police Station, said: “I am asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch.

“In addition, anyone who was driving in The Square area around the time of the incident and may have dash-cam footage that would help with our investigation is asked to call us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0655 of 20 June, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
