Today's roads report for Badenoch and Strathspey

Frost remains the main problem on the strath's roads, says Highland Council's roads team.

The latest report, posted just before seven o'clock confirm, warns of widespread frosty patches.

"Roads are being treated as necessary," said a spokesperson.

In the surrounding areas by the Highland capital this morning's post just before 6am confirmed: "Dry overhead but roads wet.

"Grey frost on verges and on roads where salt has worn off.

"Icy patches where water on road.

"Covering all routes and footpaths."

The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff, the spokesperson pointe out, "intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time.

"It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling."

The UK Met Office currently has a yellow warning for snow for large parts of the Highlands.
