Roadworks will be taking place on A9 near Pitlochry from Sunday evening.

The work will take place over four nights: Wednesday 13, Thursday 14, Sunday 17 and Monday 18 September.

"The improvements will enhance surface durability, making the road more resilient in inclement weather conditions and providing a safer driving experience for all users," said Ian Stewart, BEAR's north west rep.

The A86 will be closed in both directions each night from 8pm to 6am during the roadworks. There will be designated amnesties at 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 2am, and 4am when drivers will be safely allowed to pass through the work site.

Bus services will operate throughout the closures, maintaining regular schedules. Emergency services will have access through the closures at all times.

Mr Stewart added: “These essential resurfacing works will significantly improve road quality and safety for all. We appreciate motorists' patience during these enhancements.”
