NHS Highland is encouraging those eligible who have yet had their winter vaccination: "Please come forward."

Dr Tim Allison, director of public health for NHS Highland, said: “Uptake of both the COVID and Flu vaccinations in the Highland area has been good but we know there are still those who are high-risk and/or vulnerable who have yet to come forward for their vaccination.

Please come forward for your own protection!

“Anecdotally we have heard that some may still be waiting to be called for their vaccination, we are asking them to not wait but to please come forward now.

“Flu levels are the highest we have seen in years and the number of COVID cases has also increased. The best protection for you is to get vaccinated.”

The NHS Highland website has a list of clinics available with a mixture of drop-in and appointment only options.

"Our local Service Delivery Centre can also advise you on the nearest available clinic to match your needs, they are available on 08000 320 339.

We would also appeal to family members and friends of our high-risk / vulnerable people to check with them to see if they have been vaccinated.

Dr Allison added: “Vaccine uptake has been good but we’re very keen to ensure as many people come forward to get vaccinated. I would encourage those who are eligible for the winter vaccine but have yet to come forward to please do so now.”
