KLM flights to and from Inverness were cancelled on Friday.

Airline passengers travelling from Inverness to one of Europe's main hub airports were facing disruption on Friday following flight cancellations.

KLM's flights between Inverness and Amsterdam Schiphol were cancelled on Friday, Highlands and Islands Airports (Hial) and KLM have confirmed.

Hial's scheduled flights checker for Inverness Airport warned passengers that the 1.25pm departure to Amsterdam Schiphol (flight KL0930) was off.

KLM's website was also confirming the earlier KLM929 flight departing Amsterdam for Inverness at 12.10pm is also not flying on Friday "because of a technical reason".

A KLM spokesperson said: "Due to technical difficulties, we were not able to execute the flights. Passengers are informed and rebooked."
