Key stakeholders including staff and the local access panel have been given a look at the inpatient and consulting rooms in the new Badenoch and Strathspey Community Hospital.
They visited the £20m development nearing completion in Aviemore to provide feedback on the design and layout.
Heather Cameron, NHS Highland’s senior project manager, said: “This was an excellent opportunity to showcase how the inpatient rooms in the new Badenoch and Strathspey Community Hospital will look.
"It was fantastic to be able to welcome stakeholders into the hospital and for them to see and give feedback on the layout in person.
“We have made the most of modern technology during the pandemic to enable stakeholders in the projects to review digital models of the layout, and this was the first time members of the public have been able to physically access the building.
“We were able to showcase sample rooms of a standard in-patient room and en-suite as well as the larger flexible use room.
"The room layouts are equally applicable to the new hospital for Skye, Lochalsh and South West Ross.
“The feedback has been positive.
"We have used a live link of Microsoft Teams and recorded 360-degree photos to ensure that those who were unable to be there on the day are also able to see the layout.
“This is an exciting stage of the process and we are committed to ensuring people across Badenoch and Strathpsey and Skye, Lochalsh and South West Ross are kept-up-to-date with the final stages of construction.”
NHS Highland has worked closely with hub North Scotland and Balfour Beatty to ensure the project remains on course for completion later this year, with a projected handover date this summer for the new Aviemore hospital.
