First snows of the winter falling in the Cairngorms

With the flood waters still receding after the torrential rains which raised the strath's rivers so dramatically, snow is now falling – the first of this winter.

David Macleod caught the first sprinkling early on Saturday morning looking across to Cairngorm Mountain.

By the evening brave motorists, including Dave Craig of Newtonmore were driving on the first ground level coverings and negotiating the road at the Lecht.
