Strathspey and Badenoch fire crews sent to an estate blaze near Newtonmore

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent three appliances to a fire on Cluny Estate, by Newtonmore this evening.

There are reportedly no casualties although an update is still awaited from Police Scotland on the details of the incident.

The SFRS confirmed that after the alarm call was made at 19.40 this evening there were pumps sent from Grantgown and Kingussie with back-up from Newtonmore Community Response Unit.

The first was swiftly brought under control and the firefighters got the stop call at 20.44.

They have since left the site after checking it out fully.
