JLS and Olly Murs wow strath fans - new photographs!
FANS from the strath were amongst the 10,000 crowd who saw heart-throbs JLS and Olly Murs play in the Highlands at the weekend.
Boy band JLS rose to fame after coming second behind winner Alexandra Burke in the ITV talent show ‘The X Factor’, as did Murs who was the support for Saturday night’s concert in Dingwall.
One of the fans who had headed to Victoria Park, home of Ross County, from Aviemore was Stephanie Lawson, along with her sister, Sophie, brother Matthew and their friends.
Stephanie (21) said: “It was brilliant, although I lost my voice because I screamed so much. It was so funny when Olly told the crowd that the top of his trousers had burst.
“There was a really nice atmposhere and it was a great family occasion.
“I hope there are plenty more concerts like this coming up here to the Highlands. Saturday night showed that music fans will turn out.”
Aviemore dad Merlin Sandbach took his two young daughters, Lauren and Ashley, along to the concert.
He said: “They thoroughly enjoyed going to see their favourite band. To see a big group like JLS play at such a local venue was awesome and the atmosphere was electric.
“Living in the Highlands, we don’t often get the chance to experience big-time concerts unless we travel to Edinburgh or Glasgow.”
And the Cairngorm Brewery worked confessed: “I even surprised myself by knowing many of the words to JLS’ biggest hits!”
Police were delighted with the friendly atmopshere and there were no arrests.
The event, the biggest crowd-puller ever in Dingwall, went “extremely well”, according to local police inspector David Greenlees.
