A last minute Covid booster and flu jag clinic has been arranged for Aviemore today.

An NHS Highland drop-in clinic for Covid boosters and winter flu is just about to get under way this morning in Aviemore.

The venue for the last minute clinic is once again at the former health centre at Muirton.

A health authority spokeswoman apologised for the lack of notice but explained: "We have a team of vaccinators who have become available and wanted to take full advantage of that."

She said: "Patients registered with Grantown or Aviemore medical practices who are eligible for the Covid-19 Booster and/or flu vaccination are invited to attend the drop-in clinic tomorrow."

The clinic is being held from 9am to 4pm today.

The spokeswoman added: "As this is a drop-in clinic there may be some queuing involved. Anyone with mobility difficulties that would make queuing difficult should make themselves known to our staff at the clinic."

The first drop-in clinic was held in Aviemore yesterday and there were reports of just short queues and these were contained to within the building.
