Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks is offering grants to improve community resilience in the strath.

The 2019 round of its Resilient Communities Fund has £140,000 for non-profit making organisations, community groups and charities working to protect and enhance the resilience of those most vulnerable in the area.

The application deadline is Thursday, May 3.

The fund supports local projects which protect the welfare of vulnerable community members through “enhancing their resilience and improving community participation and effectiveness”.

Applications of up to £20,000 will be considered by an independent fund panel with funding decisions communicated by September 2019.

Projects have included the strath’s own Badenoch and Strathspey Community Transport Company, which received £11,830 to keep people more socially connected in their communities.
