Emergency services respond to 'well alight' vehicle fire on A9 near Aviemore

The A9 near Aviemore was reduced to one lane after a vehicle fire sparked the closure of the northbound lane on Wednesday afternoon.
Two fire engines and police were scrambled to the scene shortly before 1pm.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said it sent fire engines from Aviemore and Kingussie to the scene, and found the vehicle "well alight" by the time of their arrival.
A spokesperson for the SFRS said all passengers had successfully exited the vehicle before they arrived, and the fire service used one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatuses to extinguish the flames.
They left the scene at around 1.44pm.
The spokesperson added that police remained on site managing traffic as a result of the fire and subsequent lane closure.
Police have been contacted for comment.
Traffic Scotland has advised motorists to "use caution on approach".
It is not yet known when the lane will reopen to traffic.
