When the alarm went up at 14.36 the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service despatched crews from Aviemore, Kingussie and the community response unit at Newtonmore.

A spokesperson said: “There was one vehicle involved and one casualty. There are no further details at this stage.”

The brigades were recalled at 15.23.

Police Scotland have been contacted for further information but it would appear the road was not closed and diversions not put in place, with Traffic Scotland posting no data.
