‘Emergency services’ called after passenger takes ill on Highland Mainline train, says ScotRail

Emergency services were called after a train passenger took ill on the Highland Mainline.

There was no immediate word on the passenger’s condition but services on the line have already resumed their journeys.

ScotRail has advised passengers to expect disruption to services until around 3.30pm following the incident earlier on Thursday afternoon.

A ScotRail spokesperson said: “Due to a passenger being taken ill at Kingussie, our Edinburgh / Glasgow Queen Street to Inverness services are subject to delay. The emergency services have been contacted.

“Train services between Edinburgh / Glasgow Queen Street and Inverness are now returning to normal, though some services may still be delayed due to knock-on disruption. Please check your service on our app or website.”

It has not been confirmed which train the passenger took ill on.
