Driver taken to hospital with serious injuries after A9 accident by Kinveachy

A driver has suffered serious injuries in an accident earlier today north of Aviemore.

The two car crash occurred around five miles north of the village at around 12.50pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Emergency services attended and a man – the driver of one of the vehicles – was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with serious injuries.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."

The A9 reopened at around 7pm. Diversions had been in place via Carrbridge.
