Drivers caught speeding at up 111mph on A9 by Inverness

Police officers on patrol on the A9 and A96 near Inverness over the weekend caught motorists driving at speeds of up to 111mph.

The incidents happened on Saturday evening when Highlands and Islands road traffic police were carrying our speed enforcement.

One driver was caught speeding at 111mph on the A9 in a 70 mph limit near Inverness while another driver was caught driving at 106 mph in a 60mph limit on the A96.

Both have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for dangerous driving.

Police also detected a motorist driving at 99mph in a 70mph limit on the A9 near Aviemore. The driver has been reported to the Procuractor Fiscal for speeding.

Another driver caught speeding at 91mph in the same area received a conditional offer of a fixed penalty notice.
