Time is fast running out for people to register to vote for the forthcoming Holyrood elections.
Electors in the three Highland constituencies are being urged to ensure they do so before the deadline for receipt of applications by the end of April 19.
Those who recently received a poll card for the election on May 6 are already registered.
Voters are also reminded that although the deadline for applying for a new postal vote has passed, the deadline for new applications to vote by proxy (not postal vote), except for medical emergencies is 5pm on April 27.
Bill Gillies, the Electoral Registration Officer for Highland and Western Isles, said: “Registering to vote is quick and easy. However, those who are not registered by the deadline will miss out on their chance to have their say in the Scottish Parliament election.”
The quickest and easiest way to register is online by visiting here or alternatively calling the Electoral Registration Office on 0800 393 783 to request a paper form.
The Electoral Commission has produced an election guide that is being sent to every household in Scotland to explain to voters what they need to know ahead of the election.
This guide has been produced in a range of accessible formats and is also available also from the council’s website by clicking here
