Tulloch Homes, part of the Springfield Group, has reached out to pupils at Newtonmore Primary to set them the challenge of naming their new upcoming development.

Think of a name! That's the challenge for the children of Newtonmore Primary School as they view the site of their village's new homes development.
Think of a name! That's the challenge for the children of Newtonmore Primary School as they view the site of their village's new homes development.

Located off Perth Road, the development will include a range of one, two and three bedroom energy efficient homes – including apartments and bungalows – and is well connected to Newtonmore train station, the golf club, local shops, and cafes and less than an hour’s drive to Inverness.

The brief encouraged pupils to research the history of the area, look closely at the environment surrounding the development and to consider the local amenities nearby to help inspire a name.

Given the scenic Wildcat trail wrapping around Newtonmore offering views out to the River Spey, names in this area were a popular choice with Hal suggesting ‘Wildcat Meadows’, Annabelle going for ‘Wildcat Green’ and Jessica opting for ‘Wildcat Grove.’

With the River Spey passing by the development, Isla and Sophia felt inspired and suggested ‘Spey Green’ with Finlay, offering ‘Speyside.’

Tulloch Sales and Marketing Director, Jo McLaren, said: “At Tulloch we like to engage with the communities in areas where we are building. That’s why we were excited to speak with the pupils at Newtonmore Primary and challenge their creativity with the opportunity to name our upcoming development, just along the road from the school.

“We have had some fantastic name suggestions and are so blown away with the thought and consideration each child has put into their submissions. We now have a very difficult task ahead of us as we select the winning name.”
