Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, many people have been asking the same two questions: are there any new Covid-19 cases in the strath and whereabouts are they?

NHS Highland has been unable to provide the details even when there has been speculation of individual cases in the strath citing patient confidentiality.

The only time health bosses have gone public with local details is when there has been a cluster and an enhanced risk of infection to local residents. The only local instance was the outbreak at the Millers of Speyside abattoir in Grantown.

But now this has now changed with the publication of coronavirus data by neighbourhood area.

Badenoch and Strathspey figures are available with the latest data broken down into three districts.

These are south, central and north Badenoch and Strathspey roughly equating to Strathspey not including Aviemore, Aviemore and surrounding area and Badenoch.

The latest figures up to the week ending September 30 for Covid cases are no cases, one to four cases and one to four cases respectively

The information has been published by Public Health Scotland.
