Deadline for garden bin permits renewal in Highlands is tomorrow

Tomorrow is the final day for the renewal period for brown bin permits to get the first new service of the year.

The local authority has experienced ICT issues over the past week – some of which affected online forms.

A Highland Council spokesperson said: "We understand that this prevented some customers from renewing their Brown Bins online over the weekend and a decision was taken to extend the deadline from Monday to Friday.

"Customers who have not yet been able to renew their permits now have until Friday to ensure delivery in time for the first collections of the new service year which starts on September 1.

"Highland Council apologies for any inconvenience caused."
